Travel Logistics

Since many people are traveling halfway or more across the country to come to our wedding, we just wanted to mention a few things to consider when making your travel plans.

Airports
There are several options for airports in the area. The closest airport is in Palm Springs, CA, which is 55 miles from 29 Palms. It usually takes about 1.25 hours to get to the Palm Springs Airport.
The second-closest airport is Ontario International Airport in Ontario, CA. This is 110 miles from 29 Palms and usually takes about 2.25 hours. This is the airport we usually use because it is reasonably priced and not too far away.
Los Angeles International Airport is 150 miles away and can take anywhere from 2.5 to 4 hours, depending on traffic.
McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, NV is between 180 and 220 miles away, depending on the route you take, and takes between 3.5 and 4.5 hours.

Car Rental

29 Palms, Joshua Tree, and the rest of the Morongo Basin are not the best places for public transit. Renting a car will be critical to arriving in a timely and comfortable manner. We encourage friends and family to coordinate schedules and arrivals to carpool and share costs. Car rentals for a standard vehicle for four days are approximately $250. For a full week a standard rental is approximately $500. 

Bus, Train, etc.
There is no Greyhound service to 29 Palms or the rest of the Morongo Basin. There is Amtrak service to Palm Springs, Barstow, and San Bernardino, but you will probably have to call a cab to get to a car rental location.
